Portland Leadership Program Service Project

This group took on a powerful service project: assisting in the restoration of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. They volunteered for an organization called Common Ground, with the purpose of building a medical clinic that will serve the people in the 9th Ward Parish. They raised $30,000 within a 3 month period, and then Common Ground contributed $10,000 because they had raised so much. Approximately 20 Leadership Participants actually went to New Orleans to help build the clinic. Many also collected medical supplies to stock the clinic with what they needed to get started. How awesome that these Leaders made a difference in New Orleans that will be felt for many years to come.
