New Orleans Leadership Project Service Project

A solitary building on Charbonnet Street came alive as a symbol of revitalization and hope in the Lower Ninth Ward. The New Orleans Leadership group or LEEP (Leaders in Education, Empowerment, and Purpose) are people from across the country who opened their hearts and joined together to raise over $100,000 and build the Lower Ninth Ward Village Community Center.  The completed center will provide recreation, education, counseling, coaching, and life skills training for residents of all ages, while involving the people of the Lower 9th Ward in rebuilding their community.  The entire LEEP group is committed to continuing to being in partnership with the community of the Lower 9th Ward creating extraordinary future.  This group is a true testament to what it means to contribute from a place of purpose and vision, never letting life’s circumstances stop them from creating what they declared.  They not only are contributing powerfully within the community, they are empowering leadership in the Lower 9th Ward which will make a difference for generations to come.
